Excellent, clean condition of Prometheus Bound by Peter Paul Rubens (done in 1623).
The story is the punishment of Prometheus, who stole fire to give to the poor. The god Zeus sentenced Prometheus to be bound to a rock, where each day an eagle was sent to feed on his liver, only to have it grow back to be eaten again the next day. In some stories, he is finally freed by Hercules. Canvas measures 19 inches tall, by 16 1/2 inches wide, by 1 1/2 inches thick. Non-smoking household.
